Entitlement: You Can't Get Something For Nothing

Last year, there was a big controversy because a well known social figure was named a “self-made millionaire”. Now, some people didn’t see a problem with it because she is beautiful, famous, & very young. Also, she is apart of a very popular family, but some people didn’t like the claim because they felt she had not truly had to work for her wealth.

Now, if you haven’t guessed it already, I’m talking about Kylie Jenner, who in July 2018 was named the youngest self-made millionaire.
This was something that was met with both praise & controversy from those who saluted her and those who scoffed at her. Now, I am not here to say I agree or disagree because that is not my place & I am too late to comment on it. However, I do want us to do an examination & ask ourselves if we have the same entitled attitude some of us claimed she gas?

Think about it, how many times have we wanted success without putting in the hours? How many times have we wanted good relationships while negle…

Reflection: The Best Is Yet To Come

According to progress is, “a movement toward a goal or to a further or higher stage”.  In layman’s terms, progress is moving closer to your goal.

Yes. I said it and I am going to say it again. We, in our current society, worry too much about what other people think.
I mean, just look at our apps. Over half of them focus on what your fans or “followers” have to say. Then the other half help you get your account to a place where more people “like” or approve of you.
From picture editing to promos. From videos to articles. It’s all about gaining popularity. It’s basically like high school on crack.
Just a bunch of cliques and favoritism all balled up into one with a smartphone.
Now, I’m not saying that our current environment can’t be used for good. What I am saying is we have to be watchful that we use it and it doesn’t use us.
I myself have to be careful because I have struggled with insecurity many times in my life. From wanting people to like my singing, to wanting them to like my poetry. From hoping they like my outfit, to wishing a boy would ask me out. I wanted to be deemed “good enough…
