"Bigger Than Me" Book Sample

PROLOGUE

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, destiny is “a predetermined course of events often held to be an irresistible power or agency.” Looking at this definition now, after overcoming various challenges in my life, I can truly say that it holds fast to its true meaning. Every trial I have survived, every test that has become a testimony, and every struggle that has strengthened me was intended to lead me to my predetermined purpose. However, it took a long time for me to fully understand that. For many years, I mixed up my destiny with my dreams.

Now, the Merriam-Webster Dictionary also defines dream as “a strongly desired goal or purpose.” For a long time, my dreams and desires controlled me. From my desire to live a “stable” life, to my dream to be loved, to even my craving for approval, these things consumed my focus and ran my life for years, and many times they did not drive me in the direction of my true destiny.

I was so determined to do things my own way and trust my own instincts that I refused to realize that I was not following my true calling. By the grace and mercy of God, I was given time to recognize that His way, not my way, was the answer. Thankfully, all of my experiences, even the additional ones my decisions created, were able to be used for my purpose, which is why I am sharing themin order to help others reach their destinies.

At the end of the day, it is not about me or my accomplishments. The focus of this book is not how many times I have won or the amount of success I have seen. The sole objective is to help others fulfill the destinies that God has ordained for them. Once one begins fulfilling their destiny, other things can move forward. Everything that they are destined to do, every mission they are supposed to help complete, and every person they are intended to aid will be able to benefit from crossing their pathonce that path is correct.

So, in the following pages, I will be sharing how I learned through my experiences what my path was and how I came to the realization that my calling and my life is bigger than me
