When most of us are born we have an idea of what our life will be like. From our job to our house to even our spouse, we have it all planned out & want that path to be followed.
However, as many of us know our vision and our reality rarely line up. Some things are best subtracted and others are best added so we can get the best product from the equation we call life.
This results in many changes and detours on the path that we call life. Sometimes we have to make U-turns & change directions. I myself am currently having to revisit some streets that I thought would be a distant memories, but in the end it is what is best.
Look at me for example. I have had an “interesting” life for a 23 year old. From sickness to homelessness to low self-esteem, my life has been filled with many ups and downs, & I did not like it.
I would say I did not understand it, but that would be a lie because I UNDERSTOOD IT REGARDING OTHERS, but not myself.
Me, I loved the idea of greatness & success. The mere thought of being used by God to help others made me joyful, but the thought of the path that I would have to reach to fulfill that never crossed my mind.
I never considered those valleys of isolation, those rocky roads of turmoil, or those sinking sands of fear. I simply considered the mountain top of purpose, but I had to digest the fact that to reach that peak you must walk the path God has laid for you & it has a price.
It will cost some comfort. You may have to pay in losing popularity. There may be a charge paid in sleepless nights. There may even be some taxes in confusion, but always remember that this pricey path results in a priceless purpose & that is worth every cent of your life that you have.
Christ paid the cost with His entire life & He expects us to due the same if we want to be called His own. (See Luke 14:25-33)
So, as you and I both walk our pricey paths let's remember that the Almighty Banker is making an investment in us, & we should make sure that we both get a return.
“Establish my footsteps in [the way of] Your word; Do not let any human weakness have power over me [causing me to be separated from You].” PSALM 119:133 (AMP)
