In our day and time is seems like we want things very easy. I know that it seems like I came out the gate with that one, but it's something that I've really seen lately in myself & in another's. It's like we want the strength that comes from hard work, but we don't want to do it. We want to get the props, but we don't like the process. It's all about getting things in the most convenient, easy way.
For example, this past Friday I held my first book launch party for my autobiography, “Bigger Than Me”. Mind you, this was my first time doing this. So, I did not know fully what I was in for.
I had to take care of refreshments, invite people to the event, get people to participate in the program, and many other things. Now, I got a lot of help from my church, leaders, and those closest to me, but it still wore me out. However, when I was able to see the video of the event it put a smile on my face. To be able to see that my blood sweat and tears resulted in something amazing that could be used by God was an honor that cannot truly be described.
Imagine if I had given up and given in. If I'd let the frustration get to me and taken the easy way out. I would have missed a turning point in my life and in my ministry that may have taken years to get back to you. As much as I had faith, it wouldn't have shown my faithfulness.
So, during this season of giving thanks let's remember that the best way to show gratefulness is by continuing on the path God has for us. You worship him through your life by sticking it out when life is not easy. I know it's not easy because I have to do it myself. There were many times that I wanted to give up on that event because it was becoming so much and I was having to do it as the underdog.
That's the thing with purpose. It's going to require you pushing on in spite of. Is going to take you pressing forward regardless of how it feels. It's going to need you to be faithful.
Now, I'm not trying to preach to you. I'm just sharing with you what I myself have had to learn and I am still learning. You got to complete the story for God to get the glory. So, it comes down to how much He and it means to you.
